"The Most Amazing Vacation"    12/16/04
My mother and I had just eaten dinner at a Greek restaurant and afterwards were driving along the beach.  This was a very unusual beach because the sand was atop a large cliff and the water was below.  It was fairly late at night and no one was on the beach, so I just stopped my car and got out.  I walked right to the edge of the cliff and saw one of the strangest things I have ever seen.  There was a couple lying down on something that appeared to be floating on the water.  This thing they were floating on was cloth and large and round and almost reminded me of a very large trampoline, except that this thing was very thick.  There were several feet of it above the water, so the couple was isolated from any splashing water and sea creatures.  As I continued to watch I realized that they must be on vacation out there.  I thought about how peaceful it would be to be isolated from the stress of daily life and how much more interesting renting one of these things would be than renting a hotel room.  I decided that despite the Greek restaurant, we must be in Mexico, and that this is the type of vacation I would like to go on, but I realized that I couldn't handle one of those floating things by myself, so I'd have to invite someone else to help me.  I thought about all of the people I know and decided that Julius would definitely be the most low stress person, but I wondered if Julius would think going on this type of vacation would be too weird.  I saw that the couple had luggage and all sorts of comforts for spending the night.  I called down to them and asked what it was they were floating on and how they rented it.  They yelled back that they were floating on a submerged hot air balloon.  I wondered how a hot air balloon could stay inflated under water, but I didn't ask.  The couple said that they had been taking this kind of vacation for a while and said they owned the balloon.  Then they somehow turned on the balloon and then floated up into the sky, although the whole time the top of the balloon remained relatively flat.  I turned to my mother and said that I wanted one.  Then I held out my arms and the wind caught my jacket and I began to fly.  My mother was shocked, but I explained to her that if you just think that you can fly, then you can.  It felt so amazing to be flying.  I felt so happy and so relaxed.

"Visiting Valencia with Abigail and Yoshi"    12/14/04
Abigail, Yoshi, some other people I didn't know, and I were all in Yoshi's car.  We were driving to his apartment, which was apparently called Valencia.  At first I tried to keep up with their conversations, but I began to feel tired, so I leaned against the door and closed my eyes.  I could still hear them talking in the background, but when I opened my eyes I was alone in Yoshi's car in what looked like and abandoned lot.  I began to panic, but then I saw Abigail outside the window.  She told me that I had fallen asleep, so they decided to leave me out there.  I was so angry because I felt like they had abandoned me.  Abigail looked at me as if I were a pedantic child and told me that if I wanted to go to Yoshi's apartment I should stop sulking and get out of the car.  I wished that I was anywhere but there at that moment.

"Invited to a Party with J's Imaginary Girlfriends"    12/07/04
I got a call from someone who was identified as Tiffany on my phone's Caller ID, but when I answered she identified herself as Pam, who was someone I recognized as being an acquaintance of J's.  In real life he had apparently thought they were dating, but she thought otherwise.  Anyway, she told me that she was calling to invite me to a party with all of the other girlfriends J imagined he had.  Before she could give me details our call got dropped.  I was going to call her back, but then a call from Pam appeared on my Caller ID.  I picked up, but this time it was a girl named Lucy.  She told me the details and said that it would be a surprise party for J, so they had already arranged for me to meet him and then come to the party.  I wondered what kind of surprise this was, given that these were all girls who had rejected him, but I went along with it.  J and I met up to buy donuts for the party, although he didn't know these donuts were for the party.  We went to a strangely empty and florescent grocery store that was surprisingly low on donuts.  I had suggested going to Krispy Kreme, his favorite donut spot, but he had wanted to go to this grocery store because it was cheaper.  The grocery store definitely didn't have enough donuts for the party, so I was trying to convince him to go elsewhere, but he was especially argumentative.  Eventually we just gave up on the donuts and went to the party anyway.  It was very strange because there were only women at the party except for J, and all of them had rejected him.  This was quite a large party.  The other strange part was that Pam, Lucy, and some of the other girls, despite the fact that we'd never met, came up to me and greeted me as if we'd known each other for the longest time.  I felt kind of good to be at this party, but I could see that J was extremely nervous.  This looked like his worst nightmare, although he was trying to pretend everything was ok.

"At a Party with Fabiola and Diego"    12/02/04
I was at a large party in what might have been a fraternity house when I passed Fabiola.  She was so bitchy to me and told me that I had red lipstick on my chin implant and my hair.  I wondered if she was saying that I had a big chin, but then I really looked at her and realized that her chin was just abnormally small.  This incident put me in a bad mood, but I continued mingling around the party until I ran into Diego, who was also in a pissy mood.  I tried to get away from him by going into a neighboring department store, but he followed me and asked me to buy some lingerie and wear it for him.  I declined, so he started crawling around on the floor, crying.  It was a really pathetic display for someone who's supposedly a grown man.  Eventually I went back to the party after continuing to decline to buy lingerie for Diego.  Then I ran into Fabiola again, but this time her mood was noticeably nicer.  She asked me if I would stay in the frat house in her friend's apartment and watch her friend's cats for the night.  I told her that I had exams and declined.  I was so annoyed that she actually thought I'd do anything for her after she'd been so bitchy to me.

"Bahama Llamie"    12/01/04
I went to the convenience store where my parents always took me as a child to buy Slush Puppies, except that the store looked like it had been redecorated with better lighting and seemed extremely clean for a convenience store.  I went up to the counter to see what flavors of Slush Puppies were available and noticed that they had Tropical Bahama Mama, the flavor that was my favorite as a kid.  It was bright and pink and looked so pretty, so I ordered it.  I was so happy to have found it because I haven't had a Slush Puppie in about maybe 15 years, yet I love them.  When I tasted my Bahama Mama Slush Puppie, it tasted so sugary sweet and better than I remembered.  I turned and smiled at the convenience store worker who had made the Slush Puppie for me, and he smiled back, but I saw behind him that the bottle of syrup said "Bahama Llamie", not Bahama Mama.  I felt kind of confused by this because I have a friend named Llamie, nevertheless I remember that I couldn't stop smiling a big, goofy, pink, Slush Puppie smile.
