"Merlot and Jumping Monkeys"
I was standing in a lobby of a building at school.  I talked to a woman who was sitting in one of the lobby chairs.  She offered me three foil packets of crack.  I refused, so she began throwing them at me.  I threw them back at her.  Then the packets turned into hundreds of black snails.  I was completely disgusted.  The snails suddenly turned into many black monkeys that were bouncing back and forth.  That really scared me.  I wanted to run away.  Before I left the woman gave me a bottle of merlot.  I was carrying it around school, but I was worried because I was underage and did not want my professors see me carrying alcohol around.  I accidentally dropped the bottle on the sidewalk, but it didn't shatter.  There was only a small hole in the bottom, yet wine sprayed everywhere and completely soaked the white T-shirt I was wearing.  I was even more worried now.  I really wanted to drink the wine, but I decided to throw the bottle away instead.

"Delinquent Babysitters Club"
I joined a program at school where I was supposed to watch a little girl named Amy on Monday and Friday after school. She was short and pale with long brown hair.  Although I never looked like that when I was a child, she reminded me of myself when I was younger.  I thought she was very cute.  She was very independent, but cried a little when her parents left.  It was Friday and I decided that I wanted to visit a friend who did not live on campus.  At first I was with the friend I later intended to visit and a friend of his and they were explaining to me how to use an internet chat program.  They left.  Then I had to meet Amy in the lobby of the dorms.  My mother and one of my female friends suggested having a permanent craft table set up in the lobby after Christmas.  I thought that was a weird idea.  I met Amy.  One of my other female friends was eating lunch at a table in the lobby.  She called me Annie.  I told her I was babysitting Amy.  I was wearing glasses with pink trim.  My friend talked about my glasses.  She was also wearing glasses.  We discussed how difficult it was to read signs that were across the room.  I left with Amy because I decided that I needed to change my clothes before going to visit my friend.  We got in a tiny elevator in the back of the dorm that was down a side hall near chemistry rooms.  There were only three buttons in the elevator.  One button was for floors 1-3, one was labeled 4+, and another was labeled 4-7.  I pushed 4+.  Amy got off the elevator.  I went to my dorm room without her.  I called the friend I planned to visit.  He was with someone named Bridget.  I was so sad.  I decided that I couldn't visit him anymore.   Then I felt really terrified because I didn’t know where Amy was.  I wondered if she had gone back to her dorm room and if she had remembered to lock the door once she was inside.  She was only four years old, so I wondered if she was even capable of using keys.

"Voting at a Friend's Apartment"
I was staying at a friend’s apartment with my brother.  It was early in the morning.  My friend and my brother had gone somewhere, so I was alone in the apartment.  I had four red cards with black print that were voting ballots.  I went into the bathroom and was deciding who I should vote for.  I filled the ballots out.  A lot of writing was required.  I realized that there was only a handle on one side of the door.  I was worried that I might get stuck in the bathroom because the handle was on the other side of the door, but then my brother opened the door.  I realized I had voted without knowing anything about any of the candidates or parties.  Two of the cards were about issues and two were about candidates.   I felt like a bad person for making uninformed decisions.

"Shopping on the Way to School"
I went shopping with two friends.  We were looking for a birthday present for one of my other friends Karen.  I was going to buy a necklace, but I decided not to buy it because it wasn't real metal.  I thought about buying music, but the store didn't have the album I wanted.  Another friend drove me to school, but he morphed into someone else.

"Burning Wine"
My grandmother took me out to dinner.  We had a good meal.  We normally don't get along very well, but it seemed as if we were good friends.  I ordered quesadillas.  At the end of the meal I had vanilla ice cream.  I realized that it had been a very long time since I had last eaten vanilla ice cream.  My grandmother said there was a nice red-haired waitress at this restaurant named Char.  Our waitress was somewhat rude.  Eventually Char came to our table.  I talked to her a little.  There were chocolate-covered ice cream sandwiches on the menu.  I asked her about them.  I really wanted one, but Char didn’t seem to know anything about them.  She came back later and I told her I’d have a Bailey’s Irish Cream shake.  She asked me if I had ever tried St. Thomas desserts.  I said no, but somehow I knew that dessert involved alcohol  I read a description.  I thought it was a dessert involving red wine and vanilla ice cream, but after reading a further description I learned that it was a dessert with white wine that was burning and vanilla ice cream.  My grandmother encouraged me to order it.  Char was looking for a burner that was supposed to be on our table to burn the wine.  There were various candles in pewter containers and other pewter containers with water, but there was no burner.

"Living with a Freshman Boy"
I had just moved into my dorm at the beginning of a new semester.  For some reason I gave up my single room and decided to live with a roommate again.  When I arrived at my dorm it looked strangely like one of the upstairs bedrooms of my grandmother's house.  I discovered that my new roommate would be a short, blonde freshman boy.  I was not looking forward to that, but he seemed to be really nice, although he looked very young.  The problem with our room was that the walls were curved near the top of the ceiling, which happened to be very low, so our furniture was about to fall over.  After we were finally unpacked, I realized that there was a way that we could have arranged the room that would have eliminated this problem.  We currently had the room set up with my furniture on one side and his furniture on the other.  If we had put our furniture together on both sides of the room, then we would have had fewer problems.  My mother walked into the dorm and agreed that the other arrangement would be better for the furniture, but she pointed out that we were already set up, so we should just change it later.  She left.  I felt weird about living with this boy.  He began to change his clothes for bed.  I wished that I didn't live with him.  I began to think that he was very naive and innocent compared to me.

"Jungle Shortcuts and Christmas Gifts"
I was walking around school, but there were people that I wanted to avoid.  I was in geology class, but there were only five people in the class.  We had to print out a paper on computers in the classroom.  It was multiple pages, and I wanted to leave before I saw the people I was avoiding.  Two friends of a friend were also leaving a classroom, but they were not in the same class I that I was.  The two of them were talking about their plans to go out that night.  One of them suggested a shortcut home by swinging along two rows of hanging branches.  They began to swing across the branches.  I lived near them, so I followed.  We were all hanging from the same group of branches.  One of the girls fell.  The other girl grabbed onto me.  I felt terrified and annoyed.  I went back and took another path of branches.  The girl was in my way.  The second path turned out to be very short.  I asked the girl why we had originally taken the long path.  She said that she had just been following her friend.  I went to a friend's dorm.  I was carrying several gift bags.  They had gotten wet and were falling apart because I had taken the shortcut.  A gift wrapped in Christmas paper fell out of the bad.  The ink on the tag had been smeared.  The writing was no longer legible.  I realized the gift was for a friend who didn't celebrate Christmas.  My friend questioned me about who the gift was for.  I felt so angry that I refused to tell her.
