"Virgin Swimming Olympic Relay" 08/27/04
A team including me, Edward, and some other friends were competing in an
Olympic swimming relay. We swam very fast and actually won thanks to
Edward, who swam the last leg of the race. Everyone jumped into the water
and hugged him, but then one of the judges came over and informed us that we
were disqualified. We were all shocked and asked why. The judge
informed us with a heavy accent that our team was disqualified because Edward
was not a virgin and only virgins were allowed to compete in the race. One
of our teammates approached Edward and asked why he just didn't tell us.
The teammate was clearly trying to help and comfort Edward. I looked
around at that teammate and all the other teammates and wondered if anyone on
our team really met the requirements to compete.
"Dating a 57 Year-Old Attorney" 08/21/04
The movie theater in my apartment building was having a free showing of a modern
Shakespearean tragedy, so I decided to go alone. I think it was Hamlet
that I was going to see, but it may have been Romeo & Juliet.
As I was walking down a ramp in the basement toward the door of the
theater where my movie was playing I saw Robert Ahmad, who is an
apparently well-known local attorney. He was standing outside of the
door to another theater. He said hi to me and I enthusiastically
greeted him. I knew that he was 57 years old, but I was developing a
mini crush on him. He asked what I was up to and when I told him I
was going to see a movie he invited me to see a movie with him. At
that moment I wondered if he even remembered my name. I went with
him into the theater he had been standing in front of. This theater
appeared to be playing It's a Wonderful Life. Robert talked
loudly and made funny comments throughout the movie, although the movie
itself was somewhat boring. I was so happy to be there with him and
realized that this was our second date. He told me that he was
pretty bored with the movie, but one of his friends was outside of the
theater and he wanted to introduce me. When he told me the name of
his friend, I realized that his friend was my father's boss. I
quickly told Robert that I couldn't meet his friend. He didn't
understand why not, so I had to explain that my father would disapprove of
me dating a 57 year-old and that if my father's boss saw us together, then
word would definitely get around. I felt bad about having to tell
Robert this because I didn't want him to feel old or to feel that our huge
age difference was a problem for me. He seemed very cool about it
and suggested that we leave out a side door and go to his apartment.
I felt glad that I didn't have to pretend to like the movie he
picked. His apartment was beautiful, but not nearly as luxurious or
as decorated as I would expect for a man who is apparently so
successful. We walked into his bedroom, he hugged me and gave me a
kiss and told me to make myself comfortable as
he walked into the master bath. I lay down on his
bed. I felt very tired and
stressed. When he came back he smiled at me. I realized that
it was kind of strange for me to be curled up on his bed. I
stretched out my arms and motioned for him to join me. He again
flashed a huge smile, but as he stood at the edge of the bed he told me
that I would have to move over because if he lay on top of me he would
crush me. I told him I didn't think so. Honestly, I think he's
a pretty frail looking 57 year-old, but he's certainly not at all
overweight. I told him we should try it out. I felt so happy
to be in bed with him until he lay down on top of me and I really did feel
as if he would crush me. I couldn't believe this because he's so
thin. But then I took a close look at him and realized it was J,
who is overweight. I felt sick when I realized I was in bed with J.
"Edward Directs a Strange Ballet" 08/16/04
I was at work when a woman I didn't know came up to me and began giving me
directions about projects to work on. I didn't know what she was
talking about. She then asked me if I was her intern. I
wondered how she could think I were her intern when her intern was blonde
and I was not, but I explained that she must have just gotten us
confused. Then Edward's supervisor came up to me and told me that
they needed me to go ahead and work on the project. I was extremely
annoyed by this, but I agreed to do it. I walked back toward
Edward's office when I saw another attorney and a little girl go into a
strange door beside Edward's door. I had never noticed this door
before and wondered why a strange blue glow was emitting from it, so I
decided to go in with them. Inside the small room was lit by fluorescent
lighting and had only white egg-shaped pedestal chairs. The attorney
introduced me to the little girl and told me that the girl was the newest
star of the office ballet and that this room we were in was the practice
room. I asked about the ballet and the attorney informed me that
Edward was directing an office ballet. She told me that I needed to
ask Edward what my role would be, but everyone in the office was going to
participate. This was yet another aspect of the day that left me
feeling annoyed and stressed. I did not want to go talk to Edward
about ballet. I was pretty sure that it was a topic he knew nothing
about, but I felt sure that he would still command everyone to do as he
says. The other attorney left us in the strange blue room and asked
me to help the little girl practice her part in the ballet. I felt
nervous and suddenly felt as if I was in the Twilight Zone.
"Skyla and Zenith Swim" 08/11/04
I would be leaving on a vacation soon, so I checked on my cats one last time
before I left. I went into the house where we were apparently living
and noticed that there was a pool in the living room. I was worried
about this because I was afraid that maybe Zenith would accidentally fall
in. Then I looked into the pool and saw that Zenith was lying on the
bottom, with his paws tucked under him. I was afraid that he was
drowning, so I jumped in to save him. As I swam down to the bottom
and almost reached him he began swimming away from me. I was shocked
that he knew how to swim. I began to worry because he is blind, so I
did not know if he would experience vertigo and not be able to find his
way to the surface. Then I saw that Skyla was also swimming. I
was extremely worried that they would drown because there were tubes
filled with water that they could swim through, but there were floating
pieces of glass covering these tubes. I didn't know if the cats
would become trapped under the glass. I spoke to an older man who
apparently was at the house because he was going to take care of the cats
while I was gone. I realized that I couldn't leave the cats in his
care due to the pool and also decided that I did not want to board the
cats somewhere, so I decided to cancel my vacation.
