Dreams June 2001

"Lucid Dream: Going to the Beach" I was at my grandmother's house.  It was a hospital waiting room.  My brother and a female singer were there.  The singer left.  There was a fire in the guest room, so we went to the dining room.  A fire also broke out there.  Suddenly my grandfather, who died years ago, was walking around the house in a white suit.  I was terrified.  I screamed out that he's dead.  My brother and I ran into one of the bedrooms.  My grandfather threw a cigar at me.  I was afraid that it would burn me, but it didn't.  Then he threw a cigarette lighter at me.  The lighter stayed lit as it flew through the air. but then it hit my bare leg and the flame melted into wax.  I painlessly peeled the wax off my leg.  I realized I was dreaming.  I decided that I wanted to be at the beach.  I was instantly there, but I couldn't decide who I wanted to invite to join me.  At first I was there with Sauna Boy .  I later decided that I didn't want to be at the beach with him, so I made him become someone else.  I kept changing the person because I couldn't decide who I wanted to be with. "The Neighbors Visit" I was in a swimming pool with a friend.  He was talking to me, but I couldn't hear him.  I realized that I was wearing earplugs.  I took them out.  He told me that my neighbors had come over.  I got out of the pool.  It turned out that my neighbors were having a garage sale at night.  One of the women insisted on taking a picture of me.  I noticed there were lots of other pictures on the walls of my house, including a picture of a short blonde girl that I didn't know.  I went downstairs.  My grandmother was there.  One of the neighbor's children was holding a toy that was making a very loud noise.  I told him that loud toys are the best ones to play with. "Emotional at Work" I took a bus to work with my brother and two members of a female singing group.  We got off the bus at 25th street and walked to 40th street.  I worked at a retail clothing store.  One of my friends was already at work.  She was cooking macaroni and cheese.  I walked into the bathroom.  She followed me.  I was so angry.  My father told me not be so emotional.  Finally, my brother and I picked up our checks and went to another friend's house. "In a Hotel with a Friend" I went to a hotel with Diego.  He waited in the lobby as I went with the manager to choose a room.  The elevator scared me.  It was very shaky.  The manager and I looked at one room, but there were shoes and other items on the floor.  I thought someone was staying there.  The manager said people leave stuff because they come back every year.  In one room the sheets and comforters glowed in the dark.  We went to the 16th floor and saw a beautiful mauve room that had an attached sitting room.  People had also left things there, but the manager said it didn't matter because Calvin and I weren't going to unpack.  She mentioned Calvin, but I had come to the hotel with Diego. "A Walk in the Snow" I took a train home from school with my friend's roommate.  I kept calling him the wrong name.  We decided to go for a walk.  It was snowing in Miami.  When we got back to my dorm, my parents were there.  They were very upset because my brother was not doing well in school. "A Friend and I Are Pregnant" A friend and I were both pregnant.  She was having her baby, so I called another friend and they went to the hospital together.  I was left alone in my dorm.  I felt very sad. "Choosing Ice Cream at the Mall" I went into an ice cream store at the mall.  I looked at all of the flavors.  I was having difficulty deciding which flavor I wanted.  I thought about choosing one that was blue and chocolate, but I couldn't seem to find that flavor after the first time I saw it.  I finally decided to resort to Cuban mint chip.  The worker at the store kept asking me what flavor I wanted.  My brother was with me.  He seemed to be very annoyed.
